About Open Legal Access

Most people's first contact with the legal system happens on the worst day of their life — after a crash, or an arrest — with no idea what happens next, what their rights are, or whether they even need a lawyer yet. The information that would answer those questions exists, but it's scattered across statutes, court websites, and law firm pages written to generate leads more than to actually explain anything.

Open Legal Access exists to close that gap: free, plain-English guides to personal injury and criminal law, written to help you understand your situation well enough to make good decisions — including the decision to call a real attorney.

Our editorial approach

Every article is researched carefully against official Utah sources — court websites, statutes, and government forms — and written to be accurate and generally applicable.
